Achievements

In order to meet the food and nutritional needs of the growing population, the Department of Agricultural Extension has been able to produce bumper crops of horticultural crops including vegetables, spices, fruits and flowers in the past 3 years through the transfer of advanced technology among farmers. Horticulture Center, Kalyanpur, Chapainawabganj under the Horticulture Wing has been carrying out significant activities in the expansion of garden crops.

This program has been strengthened to provide and distribute high-quality seedlings/plants and seeds to the farmers. 3,25,206 fruit seedlings/cuts, 1,53,510 flower seedlings/cuts/tubers, 32,095 spice seedlings/cuts, 1820 medicinal crop seedlings/cuts, 2, 86,710 vegetable seedlings, 19,075 ornamental tree seedlings/cuttings and 2,00,000 seedlings were produced under other and special programmes.
